Higher
Thinking Skills through IT-Based Projects
It
is the students themselves who demonstrate higher thinking skills and
creativity through such activities searching for information, organizing and
synthesizing ideas, creating presentation, and the like. There are IT-based
projects conducive to develop higher thinking skills and creativity among
learners are; Resource-based projects were the teacher steps out the
traditional role of being a content excerpt and information provider, it let
the students find their won facts and information or the teacher may supply the
data or information; simple creations; guided hyper-media projects and web
based projects.
From
the time that I’ve entered in college, I’ve noticed that there are some of my
instructors who let us think a lot during our class, examination and other
learning activities in order for us to formulate the answers. There are some of
my instructor let us search an information about a certain topic and on the
next meeting he/she let us stand in front and ask a lot of information about
what I’ve research and s/he will add some information that we haven’t say.
It
is good for the students that the teacher let them think deeper during the
class because it is the way that the students can develop their higher thinking
skills not only on one subject but in all of their subjects. It can also use in
a real life situation for instance; one of the family member doesn’t know how
to cook a pasta and in order for him/her to do the task he/she surf to the net
the procedure on how to cook and think or analyze what is being written on the monitor.
Higher
order thinking skill is one of the most important things that the student
should develop and the teacher is one of the instruments that would help them
to achieve those things. The first thing that the teacher can help them to
develop those thinking skills is to let the students surf through the net about
the certain topic and should answer the following questions and it would
require the students to analyze what they have search and also the questions.
